Black Afgano is built around the idea of cannabis, but not as a literal recreation. Conceived by Alessandro Gualtieri under the house of Nasomatto, it explores darkness, density, and altered perception rather than simple provocation. The reference to Afghan hashish serves as concept and atmosphere more than ingredient list.
The opening is thick and resinous, immediately smoky and green. Cannabis-like facets blend with dark woods, incense, and a heavy amber structure, creating a narcotic, almost meditative aura. There is a tar-like depth beneath the surface, slightly bitter and earthy, reinforced by oud and subtle sweetness that prevents the composition from feeling flat. The scent is dense, persistent, and unmistakably bold.
Best season: Black Afgano earns its place in autumn and winter, when dropping temperatures and shorter days create the perfect conditions for its smoky, resinous depth to fully unfold.
